Hot Momma Half Marathon Relay

Moms RUN This Town hosted their first virtual run during the month of July. The  participants of the “Hot Momma Virtual Half Marathon-Half Marathon Relay” had the choice to run 13.1 miles all at once, form a relay group and run 13.1 miles or run 13.1 miles during the month of July.
The Rockwall, TX Chapter ran the virtual race together as a group on July 21st. We all started together and each one of us ran the mileage we needed to run to complete our teams relay. We had a great turn out and even had chip timing provided by the Rockwall Running Center.

Too Hot to Handle 5K/15K

This past Sunday a few of our members volunteered at the Too Hot to Handle 15K. We were at the water station at the turnaround point for the 15K race. It was a little overwhelming at first, but after the first runners came by we started getting pretty good at it.

It was also fun seeing some our chapter members  and other runners we knew running the race.

We hope the runners liked our station! We had a blast and it was fun being on the other side of a race.

DFW Group Run Meetup

This past Friday a few moms from our chapter met up with moms from the Fort Worth chapter at White Rock Lake. Most of us were pushing a jogging stroller and two moms ran pushing double strollers. We separated in to a few groups and ran anywhere between 2-5 miles. It was REALLY hot, but we all really enjoyed each others  company.

After our run we headed to Lake Highlands splash park. All the kiddos had fun playing and we had a great time chatting.

The meetup was a great success and we are looking forward to meeting up with the Fort Worth chapter  again and hope we can meet up with some of the other chapters in the DFW area as well .

The Patriot Half Marathon and Run for Nate 5K

On Memorial day, Rockwall Running Center hosted The Patriot Half Marathon (Rockwall’s first half marathon) and Run for Nate 5K. Our chapter had a few moms run the 5K and several running the half marathon. This was a great local race put on by an amazing running club.

Besides being The Patriot Half Marathon’s inaugural year, this was the first half marathon for many of our members. All our ladies did amazing and we are looking forward to participating again next year.

Virtual Race

This month some members of our chapter are running a couple of virtual races. Never heard of a virtual race?

A virtual race is a race that you can run anywhere on your own time. They can be different distances (5k, 10k, 13.1 miles, 26.2 miles, etc). Some of them are free, others cost money, some provide race t shirts and most of them provide prizes.

Saturday Ashley and Jessica ran the 3W Westminster Womens VIRTUAL Classic.

A few of our chapter members will also be participating in the Joggermom Marathon. For this virtual race the participants have to run 26.1 miles in 31 days. This virtual race has some great prizes and registration is opened until May 15h 🙂

Welcome

Welcome to our blog!

We are a local chapter of a free national running club for moms called Moms RUN This Town (MRTT). We welcome ALL skill levels whether walker, C25k-er, joggers, runners and old pros.

Our chapter members range from expecting moms, moms that run with jogging strollers, moms that run with their older children, walkers, C25k-ers, joggers, half marathon runners and marathon runners.

We typically have short (3-5 miles) group runs MWF mornings and long group runs on Saturdays or Sundays. We usually meet in the Rockwall area, but occasionally have “field trips” to White Rock Lake and Katy Trail.

We look forward to meeting you and having you become a member of our chapter.
