Winter Runnerland 5K, 10K and Half Marathon

On January 13th our chapter hosted the Winter Runnerland 5K, 10K and Half Marathon. Moms RUN This Town is having a virtual race during the month of January and our chapter ran it together as a group. We had 45 ladies sign up for the race, which included members from the Greenville, Arlington and Fort Worth Chapters. It was a very casual event, but we did have fun “swag” bags and were fortunate to have the Rockwall Running Center time our event.

Our event was a great success, but it would not have been without the support of all the wonderful ladies that ran this morning. We would also like to thank Coach Barrett and the Rockwall Running Center for providing the chip timing and refreshments and all our wonderful race sponsor who allowed us to have some great giveaways.

Christmas Light Run

On Thursday 12/13 our chapter had a Christmas light fun run in the Woodcreek neighborhood. We all got together in the evening and ran a little under 3 miles in the neighborhood while we looked at Christmas lights. We had a great turnout and had a lot of fun. It was chilli and next year we will probably plan a potluck and have some hot chocolate.

Moms RUN This Town Water Stop at Fort Worth Marathon

On Sunday November 11, members from Rockwall, Fort Worth and Keller Chapters volunteered a water stop number 9 at the Fort Worth Marathon. We were at the 11 and 15.5 mile mark for the marathon and decorated our area with balloons, signs and even decorated the trail. It was a great experience and we really enjoyed cheering all the runners that came by.

Hot Momma Half Marathon Relay

Moms RUN This Town hosted their first virtual run during the month of July. The  participants of the “Hot Momma Virtual Half Marathon-Half Marathon Relay” had the choice to run 13.1 miles all at once, form a relay group and run 13.1 miles or run 13.1 miles during the month of July.
The Rockwall, TX Chapter ran the virtual race together as a group on July 21st. We all started together and each one of us ran the mileage we needed to run to complete our teams relay. We had a great turn out and even had chip timing provided by the Rockwall Running Center.

Too Hot to Handle 5K/15K

This past Sunday a few of our members volunteered at the Too Hot to Handle 15K. We were at the water station at the turnaround point for the 15K race. It was a little overwhelming at first, but after the first runners came by we started getting pretty good at it.

It was also fun seeing some our chapter members  and other runners we knew running the race.

We hope the runners liked our station! We had a blast and it was fun being on the other side of a race.

DFW Group Run Meetup

This past Friday a few moms from our chapter met up with moms from the Fort Worth chapter at White Rock Lake. Most of us were pushing a jogging stroller and two moms ran pushing double strollers. We separated in to a few groups and ran anywhere between 2-5 miles. It was REALLY hot, but we all really enjoyed each others  company.

After our run we headed to Lake Highlands splash park. All the kiddos had fun playing and we had a great time chatting.

The meetup was a great success and we are looking forward to meeting up with the Fort Worth chapter  again and hope we can meet up with some of the other chapters in the DFW area as well .
